ACCEPTANCE OF POLICIES AND CONDITIONS


Thank you for choosing Literal Hostel for your upcoming stay. Before completing your reservation, we kindly ask you to carefully read the following policies and conditions. By confirming your reservation, you accept the terms set out below. We want to guarantee you a pleasant and safe stay, so we appreciate your cooperation in complying with these rules.


Cancellations

  1. The Guest may cancel the Reservation free of charge if they notify Literal Hostel at least 72 hours prior to 3:00 PM (local time) on the day of arrival. In this case, Literal Hostel will refund all amounts paid in advance, except for non-refundable rates.
  2. When the Guest has been offered a discounted rate under the condition that the Reservation is non-refundable in case of cancellation, and provided that the Guest has been informed of this condition, all Charges corresponding to that Reservation must be paid in full in the event of cancellation.
  3. If the Guest does not notify the cancellation within the period indicated in clause 1 or does not show up at the Hostel (no-show), the Reservation will be considered fully cancelled and the Guest must pay the Hostel an amount equivalent to the Charges corresponding to the first full night of the stay.


Reservations through OTAs (Online Travel Agencies)

Please consult the specific cancellation policies on the chosen OTA or booking channel. Each channel has its own conditions. The Hostel cannot modify or replace these conditions.


General Conditions

  • All payments must be made by credit/debit card or any other method agreed upon with the establishment.
  • In case of no-show, the reservation will be charged in full without the right to a refund.
  • Any modification to the reservation will be subject to availability and possible additional charges.
  • A group will be considered as five (5) or more people traveling together.


Payments

We accept credit and debit card payments. If you require a special invoice, please contact us in advance.


Payments for Private Rooms and Groups

  • 50% upon confirmation of the reservation.
  • The remaining 50% must be paid 15 days before the arrival date.
  • *For groups, a €300 deposit is required, payable at Reception upon arrival.


Check-In and Check-Out Policies

Check-in time is from 3:00 PM onwards.

Check-out must be completed before 11:00 AM on the departure day.


If you require early check-in or late check-out, please contact Reception in advance. This will be subject to availability and possible additional charges.


Guests with Disabilities

Literal Hostel complies with all laws regulating the treatment and assistance of guests with disabilities.


Guests with special needs related to a disability must inform the Hostel management team prior to the arrival date.


Pet Policy

Pets are not allowed in the hotel.



At Literal, we are committed to providing a safe and pleasant environment for all our guests. It is important that every visitor respects the rules of coexistence.


Below are some of the behaviors we expect from our guests:


Noise

We ask that you keep noise levels low in common areas and in rooms, especially at night. Please avoid excessive noise that may disturb other guests.


Respect for the Facilities

Proper use of our facilities is essential to ensure your well-being and that of others. Misuse of hostel services, including furniture and equipment, is prohibited, as well as carrying out unauthorized activities within the premises or any activities that may pose a danger or threat to the hostel or to the people staying in it.

Behavior

Any behavior that puts at risk the safety of other guests or hotel staff will result in expulsion without the right to a refund.


Smoke-Free Hostel

Literal is a 100% smoke-free hotel. This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and any other smoking devices. To guarantee a healthy and comfortable environment for all our guests, smoking inside rooms, common areas, and throughout the hotel premises is strictly prohibited.


Appropriate Dress Code

We are a shared-use hostel. Please dress appropriately while moving around the hostel facilities.


For hygiene and safety reasons, walking barefoot inside the facilities is not permitted. This includes the shower areas and changing rooms. The use of sandals in all changing areas is mandatory. Walking around partially or completely undressed in the hostel is not allowed, except in the changing room area.


HYGIENE AND SAFETY POLICIES


Room Cleaning

All rooms are delivered clean and disinfected following strict hygiene protocols. If you require additional cleaning service or have any special requests, please contact Reception.


Personal Hygiene Rules

We kindly ask that you use sanitary facilities responsibly and respect basic personal hygiene standards.


  1. Responsibility for Damages

Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the hotel facilities or furniture during their stay. Any damage will be charged to the registered card.


We appreciate your care of our facilities with the same respect we offer you during your stay.


    2. Hotel Property

For security reasons, please note that removing hotel items, including towels, bed linen, decorative objects, among others, is prohibited. If any items are found missing at check-out, the corresponding charge will be applied.


   3. Security and Video Surveillance

For your safety and that of our staff, please be informed that the hotel is equipped with closed-circuit video surveillance throughout all facilities, except in rooms, bathrooms, and changing areas. This is carried out in compliance with all current Spanish legislation regarding privacy and personal data protection.


ANNEX 1- PROHIBITED AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS OR HARMFUL ACTIVITIES IN THE HOSTEL

At Hostel Literal, the safety and well-being of our guests and employees are our highest priority. Therefore, the following activities are strictly prohibited within our facilities:


1. Consumption and possession of prohibited substances:

Consumption, possession, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs or narcotic substances. Misuse of medications or substances with psychoactive effects.


2. Alcohol and inappropriate behavior:

Excessive alcohol consumption that causes disturbances or discomfort to other guests.

Bringing alcoholic beverages into the hostel against established regulations. Providing alcohol to minors.


3. Misuse of facilities and dangerous behavior:

Balconing: Jumping or attempting to jump from balconies, windows, or bunk beds.

Throwing objects from balconies, windows, or bunk beds.

Accessing restricted areas of the hostel without authorization.

Tampering with elevators, alarms, or safety devices.

Using electric scooters, bicycles, or other unauthorized vehicles within the premises.


4. Fire and hazardous materials:

Lighting fires anywhere in the hostel (rooms, hallways, terraces, etc.).

Using candles, incense, or other flammable items inside rooms. Storing or using explosive, flammable, or hazardous products.


5. Violent or disrespectful behavior:

Fights, physical or verbal aggression toward guests or staff.

Insults, threats, or any type of hostile behavior.

Harassment or any discriminatory or disrespectful conduct.


6. Damage to property:

Vandalism, theft, or intentional damage to furniture, equipment, or facilities.

Improper use of furniture that may cause damage.


7. Unauthorized commercial activities:

Selling or promoting products or services without authorization.

Using hostel facilities to conduct business meetings without prior consent.


8. Other prohibited activities:

Bringing and/or using weapons of any kind within the hostel.

Creating excessive noise in rooms or common areas during designated quiet hours.

Leaving minors unattended without supervision by a responsible adult.

Using the hostel's Wi-Fi for illegal or fraudulent activities.


Bringing pets without authorization, except for assistance animals.


Failure to comply with these rules may result in the immediate expulsion of the guest without the right to a refund, as well as the initiation of legal action if necessary.


Hostel Literal reserves the right of admission and the right to apply the appropriate sanctions in the event of non-compliance with these rules.
